In Between the Star and the Cross: The Election, Sheriff Dale Harper and his deputies are confronted with puzzling murders and difficult circumstances in the midst of his re-election campaign. At least he felt he could take some comfort in his tender new friendship with the lovely director of the Christian mission, Milagro Palacios.
