As far as the Republic is concerned, there are two types of people, the REM, who are beautiful and perfect, and the people of Borderlands, the Deviants. If you are REM with imperfect DNA, you are sent to Purge, where you are hunted by the REM elite. Tian was born different. Not only is her DNA flawed, but she is the long awaited Prophecy Child.
