    Sobre

Sapiosaurus is the story of an ancient species that ruled Earth for more than 10 million years. Then, 65 million years ago, they were wiped out when an asteroid destroyed their world.Or were they?Review:"Charley, I just got some spectrographic data from aguy from Berkeley whos drilling core samples inAntarctica. It's the damnedest thing I've ever seen."The "guy from Berkeley," geologist Hal Reynolds, isabout to make the most remarkable discovery anyscientist could hope for. Deep beneath the ice ofAntarctica lies something that may prove far morevaluable to humanity than new oil reserves ever could.Just WHAT is down there, the book's title alreadytells us but don't make the mistake of thinking thatit gives the story away. There are plenty ofsurprises awaiting the speculative fiction reader inthis one.SAPIOSAURUS does a wonderful job of world-buildingwithout ever leaving our own planet, as its authorgradually reveals what/who lies buried on a continentthat 65 million years ago was a tropical paradiseinstead of a deep freeze. The tale of how thishappened is bound to intrigue veteran sci-fi fans, andit ought to hook readers dipping into the genre forthe first time, too (think "Jurassic Park" for itsquality of mass market appeal). It is plausibleenough to be frightening, and sufficiently wellconceived so that lovers of "hard" SF (of whom I'mone) will be hard put to find an error. It's a book that will keep you up until you finish it and then you'llhope for a sequel.I certainly do!© Nina M. Osier author of REGS,THE WAY TO FREEDOM, and other science fiction andmainstream novels. Reviewing for eBook Reviews Weekly.
